Guide On VAT Relief For Visually Impaired
If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you may qualify for purchasing products from us without being charged VAT. This only applies to certain types of products designed or adapted for your own personal or domestic use. This guide explains the rules and how to buy from us if you think you qualify.
To purchase a product VAT free your disability has to qualify. For VAT purposes, you’re disabled or have a long-term illness if:-
– you have a physical or mental impairment that affects your ability to carry out everyday activities, for example blindness
– you have a condition that’s treated as chronic sickness, like diabetes
– you’re terminally ill
You don’t qualify if you’re elderly but able-bodied, or if you’re temporarily disabled. You’ll need to confirm in writing that you meet these conditions.
Goods eligible for zero rating
Low vision aids including technical aids for reading and writing, which are designed exclusively for visually impaired people, for example, video magnification equipment capable of magnifying text and images.

2 – Select one of the products listed above
2- Request a quote by using “Add to Quote” button instead of “Add to Basket” button. Complete your request and press Submit.

3- Please download this form, we also need a form completing which is approved by UK government for claiming VAT relief. Download the form and complete all the fields, sign and return to us at: [email protected] or by fax at: 01625861445.
4- Upon receipt of your request and completed form we will send you a quotation excluding VAT which you can convert into an order and pay online.
5- Your order will be shipped as soon as your payment is received. If the item is in stock we usually dispatch all orders the same day if they are received before 1pm. If the item is not in stock, we will give you a delivery estimate in our quote. Please allow 48 hours for us to process your application and issue the quotation.
