Phase Contrast Microscopes

Phase contrast microscopes are used to examine living organisms that have a little or no contrast. They reveal cellular structures that are not visible with a standard brightfield microscope without the use of staining that causes living organisms to die. With phase contrast microscopes the specimen needs no specific staining.
