Panthera TEC MAT series from Motic are research grade microscopes designed for material science study in industry to satisfy the needs of the most demanding applications. Inspection of micro-sections, semiconductors, wafers, LCD panels and compound materials is achieved with a clever Brightfield/Darkfield illumination concept using incident and transmitted light.

This Panthera model TEC MAT BD-T offers Brightfield, Darkfield and simple Polarisation contrast, all combined with a new segmented illumination. This concept allows an oblique incident illumination, perfect for the detection of scratches or other defects on flat and relective surfaces

Optics
is equipped with a trinocular Siedetopf type head with an ergonomical 25° inclination, 360° rotating, having WF 10x/22mm eyepieces providing an extra wide field of view. The trinocular head light split is fixed 50:50.

A reverse quintuple coded nosepiece is fitted with four infinity objectives: Plan Achromatic 5x, 10x, 20x and S-Aprochromatic 50x (100x optional). The crisp high resolution images at 50x, 100x, 200x and 500x magnification remain perfectly in focus when changing magnification. All optics are anti-fungus treated and anti-reflection coated for maximum light throughput in every contrast method.

The light intensity for each objective position is automatically memorised and will be repeated once the objective is swung into place.

Stage & Focusing
Featuring an integrated 300 x 180 mm rackless mechanical stage with 150 x 100 mm X-Y movement. Coaxial coarse and fine focus adjustment is provided. Fine focus precision is 2μm. Total travel is approximately 35 mm with adjustable rack stop to prevent damage to samples and objectives. 

Illumination
The compact Epi illuminator carries a slot for polariser and analyser, ready for Polarisation contrast and to reduce internal reflections. The illuminator also includes the controls for varying the incident light in terms of mode (BF or DF) and illumination angle.  Incident illumination is performed by a 3W LED of selectable colour temperature. The incident/transmitted stand type for compound materials additionally carries a transmitted LED illumination system with 39 LEDs mounted in an LED condenser.
