1972 Glass Measuring Scale Ruler, 50mm - 400mm

1972 glass measuring scales are the optimum tool for quick and accurate determination of lengths and distances that are greater than can be seen within the field of view of a measuring magnifier. The 1972 has a scale with divisions of 0.1mm on the clear glass plate and is available in five lengths of 50 mm, 100 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm, and 400 mm each supplied with a 15x reading magnifier (standard Peak 1962 magnifier) inside an elegant transport box.

These precision glass scale rulers are produced in Germany using photo emulsion masks exposed at a resolution of 50,000 d.p.i and have an opitcal density of 3.5. When measuring lengths and distances it is necessary to ensure that the scale is parallel to the object to be measured, to prevent measuring errors.

A calibration test report for the 1972 glass measuring rulers is available if desired at additional cost and increase of delivery time by approx. 3 weeks. Order code: 1972-UKAS. Our supplier, who makes up these reports, is UKAS certified.

Specification:

• Measuring scale Increments = 0.1 mm, labelling 0 .10 .20 .. (mm)
• The graduations and numbers on the glass rods are high resolution but not scratch resistant
• Where humidity is even stronger, the coat can swell up from long exposure to water
• The graduations have a thickness of 0.020 mm
• Accuracy of graduation ± (0.004 mm + 8L / 1,000,000 L) µm (dimensions based on 20°C)
• Optical density >3.5
• Structure colour = black
• dpi: 50,000
• Thermal coefficient of expansion: 8.1 x 10-6 / °C
• Moisture coefficient 0% pro =% RLF
• Refraction index = 1.5195
• Material = soda lime glass
• Good optical transmission - white, slightly greenish appearance
• Scaling not centred - centred on glass element
• Length of glass element = see below
• Width of glass element = 25 mm
• Thickness of glass element = 2.8 mm

Cleaning instructions for 1972 series glass measuring rods with photo emulsion masks:
Carefully clean the mask with an isopropanol-soaked cloth – do NOT exert pressure on the coating side. If the mask is cleaned with water, do not wipe over the damp area, since this can damage the photo emulsion.

On no account use any of the following liquids for cleaning
• Acids
• Alkaline solutions
• normal water
